Virtual Museum Tours: ETH Zurich Mars InSight Webvideo
Let's go to Mars with InSight! In this video we will feel Mars' pulse. IARU is proud to have supported the translation of this web video, which came second place in FastForwardScience 2020, an international science communication contest.
Several research groups at ETH Zurich work on data acquisition, evaluation and interpretation, and control electronics for NASA’s unmanned InSight mission.
At ETH, Prof Domenico Giardini is the co-principal investigator of the seismometer onboard NASA's InSight Mars Mission. In 2018, InSight installed a geophysical observatory to monitor marsquakes and use them to investigate its deep interior. This allows us to better understand the formation of the planet and its current tectonic activity.
